Themed Weddings - Your Day, Your Way!

Weddings are such a personal experience! This can range from what is said, to how it is said - but also, the theme of the wedding is something that is very, very personal and often quite unique!

Themes don't need to be extravagant or left of field. It could simply mean that your theme is Black and White, or like my wedding in 2008, Ivory and Red. It might just mean that you let your guests know that as a bride, that you don't want any guests to wear anything blue, because you've chosen a beautiful pale blue dress. Remember, it really is about you, the couple. And you CAN ask your guests to dress (or not to) a certain way.

Then there are some weddings that can be specifically themed either for an occasion or event. Within the past few years I've done quite a few of these. Both where the couple has asked me to dress or act a certain way to fit in with what their day was about, and two in particular where I've changed completely into character, as requested.

One such occasion was when I was asked to perform a marriage ceremony as Dracula. In this instance, the ceremony was being held just after midnight on Halloween, and the bride had me come along to their make up session where I was transformed into Dracula for the night! The guests were invited along to "Just a halloween party", where they were surprised with a wedding after midnight! It was a lot of fun to do, and there's also a video on my Facebook page about it, where Dracula talks about his night!

I've also had the fantastic opportunity to dress up as The King himself, the late and great Elvis. This was a vow renewal on the beach in Dundowran for a high profile local couple who wished to remain anonymous - But this didnt stop the King from strutting his stuff, Ah Thankya Verymuch.
